The opening ceremony of the Adventer & fishing IX. IBCC went without any problems, as all teams registered on time and arrived in Siófok in good spirits. The competitors are sitting around Balaton, but based on the last years, it’s hard to tell in which sector the winner will be, as this wonderful lake shows a different face every year. This is a challenge for the teams, but what’s positive is that the fish stock is developing intensively year over year, so we can expect a plentiful catch.
The Adventer & fishing IX. IBCC starts soon, at exactly 12 pm! The teams had time to go to their spots from 7 am this morning, start unpacking and put together their gear. Of course, this year again, the marshals checked the mandatory equipment of the boats during the boatcheck. The organisers are using GPS signals again, which the marshals attach to the boats used by the teams.
Unfortunately only a few minutes after the start of the competition, we have the first penalty. All three members of the Senzor Planet Hungary team, fishing at Zamárdi – Szabadstrand, went on the water in their boats, and so no member stayed on the shore. We ask all teams to read the competition regulations, and if they have questions, to ask the marshals. The team received a 4 hour penalty!
🇬🇧Yes! We have the first catches! Fanatic Carp Anglers, fishing in Fonyód, have caught 3 measurable fish, 1 hours after the start of the competition. We can be almost certain that the current competition will also be rich in fish!
Barely 3 hours have passed since tha start of the competition, and already 6 teams have a measurable catch. So far, the Western basin is in the lead, but there is also a carp over 5 kg caught in the Eastern basin. Currently SZESZ x Pelsoholic is in the lead, with 4 measurable fish. Our eagle-eyed photographers caught a really special moment while walking the shores of Balaton. Shoals of spawning bream and crucian carp showed themselves really close to the shore, which is a heart-warming sight.
The teams have already measured multiple fish over 10 kg, we can say, the teams are really getting going at the beginning of the competition. Until now, the largest fish was caught by Mivardi SK team 1, fishing in Balatonszemes – Szabad strand. It is a perfect common carp of 16.57 kg.
